Who Will Be the President? Barack vs. Romney
I am sure that people who will be reading my blogs have already seen the debate between Obama and Romney last week. Since we live in a different time zone, of course it was quite hard to stay sober and follow all the things that they were talking about. However, I got pissed that I actually stayed up and watched all the silly stuff that Mitt Romney was talking about...

I am a mixed, young female (Arabic-Bulgarian-Turkish and etc...) that is currently living in Istanbul, trying to make her way out of here, to the USA. So I started paying attention to the political things that have been going on there, and I have been watching the American news for the last two years -of course I am not missing out on my own country either!-. I have been comparing Turkey and America by their pros and cons and I want to experience them both, so I decided to try my chance in "the world where dreams come true", to see if they really do. I might talk about myself in my upcoming posts, but right now, what I really want to talk about is, as I have mentioned in the first paragraph; the election process of Obama & Romney, and of course the Americans.

Barack Obama, as the present president and the democratic presidential candidate, is leading Romney, the republican presidential candidate, in most of the states at the moment. However it might change any time, even the way they blink their eyes can change the whole process of the election.
Obama has been working as the current president for years, and I believe that he has been pretty successful at amending the things that Bush didn't even care about. We, as the European-Middle Eastern community, know that the strategy that America is using don't let the citizens think, act or speak freely; they have their TVs with at least 3000 channels and that is enough for them. They are mostly religious, non-educated, and probably unaware about the other countries. Because that is what the government has been telling them to do for years: "You don't have to think, we are thinking for you, sit down, chill and watch your TV!"... I believe that Obama has changed the lifestyles of the Americans a little bit. He achieved to be able to change the way Americans think about terror, education, career plans and etc. He showed all the world how to "love" a woman... He is from a historically long and complicated family, he is from the black community. So it is almost impossible for him to not let any foreigners live with a well economic status and life. It is not my business if a person is Afro-American, Caucasian, Hispanic or whatever... But when it comes to politics, it is smarter for a person to be the president, who has felt being neglected and humiliated by their own country. Obama's family is black and half Muslim. He is a miracle for the country because it has always been impossible for a ""different" person to lead this huge country.
(PS: The first black president was actually John Hanson, who has accomplished a lot of things in a very short period of time). To sum up, Obama has done and given a lot of things for his country.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney, a white man who was born and raised in Michigan, is an exceptional man with unique qualifications. He can be smart, or can be even as erudite as Obama. But is he really good enough to be the president? Is he going to be as welcoming as possible to all the different races, cultures and people living and working in his country? My answer is: No. As he mentioned in his speech before, he is not going to give up from his stupid thoughts and dialogues.

“ I love being home in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born. Ann was born in Henry Ford Hospital, I was born in Harper Hospital. No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised. ” Romney says. In what is rapidly becoming the norm for Mitt Romney, he opens his mouth and something stupid pops out.

When dealing with the crazy aunt or cantankerous uncle, you nod politely and listen until they're finished ranting then keep on as you were. Except that Mitt Romney isn't just nodding politely and going about his day. He's listening and repeating and incorporating the crazy into his narrative. And, right there, is the difference between a dumbass and a racist.

I can say that as a foreigner that has been thinking of moving to the USA, I made myself assure that I will not involve myself in a world that is being ruled by people that discriminate people by their races, looks, cultures and economic statuses.

I wish good luck to Obama with this election process...
